Boy Kills World Featurette Highlights Ultra-Violent ‘Genocide on Ice’ Scene

Bill Skarsgård takes on his most physical role yet in Boy Kills World, the action-packed revenge story from Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. Ahead of the movie’s theatrical premiere on April 26, CBR can debut an exclusive featurette showcasing one psychopathic villain’s “Winter Wonderland.”

The featurette includes a look at an underground show with a Winterland theme that’s been set up with a live audience to watch characters in costumes killing people for real. Michelle Dockery — who plays Melanie Van Der Koy, the operator of the show — describes the mayhem as “genocide on ice.” Production designer Mike Berg also sees the set-up as the “most insane Oompa-Loompa playground there is.” Of course, as teased in the featurette, the show gets interrupted by the arrival of Bill Skarsgård’s Boy. The video can be watched below.

Bill Skarsgard Belongs in the DCU – But Not as a Villain

Bill Skarsgård is on the rumored shortlist for Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, but the DCU would be better off with him as a hero.

Along with Bill Skarsgård (It, John Wick: Chapter 4) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Boy Kills World stars Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), Isaiah Mustafa (It Chapter Two), Yayan Ruhian (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Sharlto Copley (Monkey Man), and Famke Janssen (X-Men franchise). H. Jon Benjamin (Bob’s Burgers) provides the voice of the narrator and the voice of Boy.

Boy Seeks Vengeance in Boy Kills World

In the film, per the official synopsis, Bill Skarsgård “stars as ‘Boy’ who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.”
