‘Boy Meets World’ alum Trina McGee suffers miscarriage after pregnancy at 54: ‘Hard to get out of bed’

Trina McGee revealed she suffered a miscarriage after getting pregnant at age 54.

The “Boy Meets World” alum shared the news on Monday’s episode of “The Tamron Hall Show.”

“I did lose the baby,” said McGee, per Entertainment Weekly. “It wasn’t expected, it was closer to the end of the first trimester. We don’t have any real reasons why.”

“I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time,” McGee added.

The actress was expecting her baby with husband Marcello Thedford.

She has three children, Ramia, 31, Langston, 29, and Ezra, 25. She shares her oldest two children with ex-husband Courtland Davis. The former couple split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.

“There are so many things that come when you really want a family and you want your family to be complete,” she told Tamron Hall. “There are so many dreams that you have. It was hard to face the fact that that’s not going to happen at this point in the junction.”

McGee explained that she dealt with “a lot of depression” and “it was hard to get out of bed” after losing her baby.

“Part of me doesn’t ever want to go through this again,” she said. “The conclusion I came to is, we’ll just keep loving each other, if something happens that way, fine, but I don’t want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God.”

McGee announced her pregnancy in June.

“At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery.”

The “City Guys” actress told Entertainment Tonight in June she went to a holistic healer to get pregnant while she was a year into menopause. She also revealed she and Thedford tried to conceive without intervention and considered using IVF, but decided against it.

On “The Tamron Hall Show,” McGee said she was “so excited” about her pregnancy so she announced it early on.

“There were so many women who, even at 55 and older, still want to get pregnant or don’t want to be boxed into this ‘geriatric pregnancy’ thing,” she said.

McGee added, “I don’t know if I’m here to give advice for everybody, because everybody’s body is different, and you should listen to your doctors.”
