Bridgeport’s newest business ‘Hot Dogs’ making big strides in a short time
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – Finding a place to enjoy a good glizzy has never been easier than it is now, that Hot Dogs is open for business in Bridgeport and here to serve all of your frank needs. The newly formed business is owned by Becky and Jim Blair, two Bridgeport natives, serves as a good start for the couple; who have embarked on their own entrepreneurial journey after not being able to get a recipe from another local hot dog shop. And while some may call this petty, the Blair’s would call it the perfect business opportunity. Leaving the 1986 graduates of Bridgeport high, hoping to leave their mark on a community they’ve always called home.
” Many years ago I tried to purchase a receipt from a local Hot dog establishment, and after many years of being told no, I decided one day I would do it myself. I worked and worked on the recipe and once I felt comfortable with them, we started working on this building, as obviously an old work trailer. We completely remodeled inside and outside and got ready to open last week, June 10th. If it wasn’t for the community, friends, and family; we wouldn’t have had the week that we had last week.”
What set’s Hot Dogs apart from other establishment’s is they like to keep it simple. So, there’s no confusion when you walk into this establishment, you know what you’re getting.
” I have a hot chili; I like to say that’s my go to chili and a mild chili. I have chips, I have coke products. I also have Gallagher milk, lemonade, and some tea products. That is all that is on my menu because that’s all I can handle; and that’s all I ever wanted to do. Just Hot dogs, chips, and a drink.”
This is only the second week the business has been open, but business has been good thus far. Just knowing this is beginning, leaves room for plenty of excitement and optimism in the future.
“That it just keeps growing and that I can keep my prices reasonably low. I will work as so I can do so every day and just continue to keep feeding the community. I’m at 834 East Main Street, I’m just up past Oliverio’s Restaurant and right before the Alfred Complex, the big Giraffe, you can’t miss the building. It’s red and trimmed in yellow just like a Hot Dog.”
