Brooke Shields Wore These Controversial Slippers on the Tonys Red Carpet

Brooke Shields kept her look comfy at the 77th annual Tony Awards.

As she graced the red carpet on Sunday, the actor wore a monochromatic outfit consisting of a vivid yellow gown and a matching pair of yellow Crocs.

While she kept most of the spotlight on her perforated slippers, Shields looked radiant in her elegant gown, which featured a small bustle to exaggerate her hips. Up top, the gown also flaunted all-over sequins that brought attention to its deep V-neck and mesh lining, while a small yellow bow sat at the bottom of the plunging neckline.

Shields wore her light brown hair down in a middle part, and opted for a simple glam with smokey black eyeliner and pink lipstick. She kept her accessories minimal too, wearing a smattering of gold bangle bracelets alongside a chunky gold ring. While she chose to go sans necklace, she did wear a statement pair of large pearl earrings, which seemed to elevate her overall look.

And as fabulous as Shields looked in her sunny attire, her footwear choice was hard to ignore. In photos, the actor pulled her dress up to showcase her yellow Crocs, putting her acting skills to use by making a shocked face at her own fashion faux pas.

This isn’t the first time the actor has worn Crocs on the red carpet, either. She pulled a similar monochromatic look in 2008, wearing a hot pink halter-neck gown with matching neon pink Crocs. For Shields—who has been hitting red carpets since 1978—comfort seems to reign supreme.
