Bryan Danielson is ‘not cleared for travel’ following latest injury in AEW
Bryan Danielson had a dream match against Will Ospreay at last month’s (Apr. 21) AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, and a lot of people think it has a good chance to be the match of the year.
The fight ended with an injury angle shortly after Ospreay used the devastating Tiger Driver ‘91 on Bryan. We haven’t seen Danielson since Dynasty, but AEW did provide an update on his status during last night’s (May 1) episode of Dynamite.
While doing commentary for a match between Claudio Castagnoli and Brian Cage, Excalibur quickly slipped in the following line about Danielson’s current situation:
“Claudio’s compatriot in the Blackpool Combat Club, Bryan Danielson, still recovering from his injuries suffered at Dynasty during that match with Will Ospreay. Danielson not cleared for travel, recovering at home. We hope to see him back soon.”
Bryan is winding down his days as a full-time wrestler, so I’d be surprised if this injury angle extends long enough to keep him out of action for this month’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 26. But I guess he’s stuck at home for now with some time on his hands, so his AEW colleagues might want to be extra careful about saying something stupid on social media.
When do you think The American Dragon will be back in action for AEW, Cagesiders?
