Burien Library hosting job preparation events for young adults on Jan. 15 & Feb. 1 – The B-Town (Burien) Blog

The Burien Library will be hosting two events this January and February aimed at helping teens and young adults prepare for their next steps in education and employment.

The sessions will focus on resume building, interview skills, and connecting attendees with local internships and opportunities.

Resume Writing and Interviewing Workshop
Wednesday, Jan. 15, 6 p.m.

  • WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 15, 6 p.m.
  • WHO: Ages 15–25
  • WHAT: Participants will learn about different resume formats, tailoring resumes for specific roles, and essential interviewing skills. This session will prepare attendees to navigate the current job market with confidence.
  • REGISTRATION: Please register in advance here.

Internship and Opportunity Fair
Saturday, Feb. 1, 3 p.m.

  • WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 1, 3 p.m.
  • WHO: Ages 16–25
  • WHAT: Attendees can explore internships, apprenticeships, and community resources. This fair provides a chance to meet with local organizations and learn about pathways to career development.
  • REGISTRATION: Please register in advance here.

Both events are free and will be held at the Burien Library, located at 400 SW 152nd Street. Accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities by request at least seven days before the event via email at access@kcls.org.
