Business and Public Input Sought on NJ’s Long-Range Transportation Plan
The state Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and NJ TRANSIT are seeking input from businesses, local government officials, and residents on the state’s long-range statewide transportation plan, “Keep It Moving NJ.”
Results from an online survey will help develop that plan, which will look ahead more than 25 years and cover all modes of transportation in the state including public transit, roads, walking, cycling, train, vehicles, waterways, and aviation.
NJDOT and NJ TRANSIT are asking employers, commuters, mass transit riders, local government leaders, travelers, and residents to take the survey so the state can gauge the public’s priorities for improving mass transit and road infrastructure, as well as expanded options for walking, biking, and other forms of active transportation.
“Transportation is essential to New Jersey’s daily life, connecting communities, supporting the economy, and improving quality of life for its over 9 million residents,” said NJDOT Commissioner Francis O’Connor. “NJDOT is committed to creating a transportation system that meets the needs of all New Jerseyans, now and in the future.”
Public input is a key component of “Keep it Moving NJ,” which will be shaped with feedback from those who live, work, and travel in New Jersey. Throughout the process, there will be numerous opportunities, in-person and online, for the public to share their transportation experiences, needs, and thoughts on the plan’s recommendations.
More information about the project and upcoming opportunities to meet with project team members is available on the project website, along with the online survey, at www.nj2050lrtp.com.
