Business Bulletin: Maritz acquires; Loyola Academy wins; Dierbergs supports; Illinois opens

Maritz, Fenton, Missouri, acquired Convention Data Services, Bourne, Massachusetts, from Freeman, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The acquisition combines strategies and support for company incentives, corporate trade shows, conventions and association events.

First Mid Insurance Group, a First Mid Bancshares company, acquired Mid Rivers Insurance Group with multiple locations in Missouri, including the St. Louis metro area.

Air Comfort Service, Hazelwood, Missouri, acquired Agers Heating + Cooling, St. Peters, Missouri. Agers’ owner and founder Brian Agers will join Air Comfort Service’s sales department as a residential project manager.

The Patterson Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the Rural Parish Clinic Archdiocese of St. Louis, one of 15 awards from the foundation totaling more than $140,000.

Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S. awarded Loyola Academy of St. Louis a $40,000 grant for curriculum to prepare students to lead in STEM at their college-preparatory high schools.

Dierbergs committed $100,000 to Operation Food Search to support St. Louis MetroMarket, a mobile grocery store providing fresh, healthy food to underserved communities. The funding, spread over a five-year partnership, designates Dierbergs as the lead sponsor of the MetroMarket Farmers Truck.

The state of Illinois dedicated the Emerson Park Transit Center, East St. Louis, Illinois. The 16,000 square foot, $15 million public safety building will house the St. Clair County Emergency Dispatch Center, the St. Clair County MetroLink Sheriff’s Deputies offices and, eventually, a second MetroLink Operations Control Center.
