Business leaders take part in Habitat For Humanity’s CEO Build

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Habitat For Humanity Tuscaloosa searches high and low for resources and manpower.

Recently, it asked some of its most trusted supporters to climb down the corporate ladder for a day to help build a house with their own hands.

“It’s one thing to write a check. It’s another thing to help a family get a home and be a part of building that home,” Ellen Potts, the Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity Tuscaloosa, said.

Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa hosted its annual CEO Build at a home under construction in west Alabama.

Around twenty of that agency’s biggest corporate donors participated in the hands-on event.

They framed a house for future Habitat homeowner Ella Ivory while we were there.

“So for us the main thing isn’t just the monetary contribution, but putting in the sweat equity as well. So it’s good to come out and get your hands dirty and building a house for someone else,” D’Andre Wright, the Vice President of External Affairs Warrior Met Coal explained.

Warrior Met Coal will sponsor the construction of a Habitat Home in 2025, according to Wright.
