‘Business of Art’ Helps Artists Display Work in Maple Grove Businesses

4:39 PM | Friday, September 13, 2024

A program organized by the Maple Grove Arts Center is helping local artists get their work on display at area businesses.

Falcon National Bank and Topline Federal Credit Union are among the Maple Grove businesses taking part in the Business of Art program.

“Some businesses, like here at Falcon Bank, when I met with them, it was an immediate ‘hey we’d love to have art on our wall. We’ve got some blank spaces we don’t know what to do with,’” said Mark Kuhn, the Business of Art director at the Maple Grove Arts Center. “So you know, it was an immediate partnership from the first meeting.”

Artist Emily Castillo has this piece on display at Topline Federal Credit Union in Maple Grove.

In addition to letting artists display their work, people can scan a QR code and buy an art piece on the spot.

“One of my artists has done very, very well,” said Kuhn. “He’s sold two or three pieces. He actually had another piece commissioned because of his work that was at one of our locations. So feedback is, it’s positive across-the-board.”

The program also helps to get the word out about the Maple Grove Arts Center. Any business owners interested in participating can contact Mark Kuhn, Business of Art Program Director, at (612) 812-6696.
