Business owner killed while trying to stop shoplifters weeks before Christmas, police say
JACKSONVILLE (Gray News) – A business owner in Florida was killed trying to stop shoplifters at her beauty supply store.
According to officers, two people grabbed several items from the beauty supply store, Beauty Max, and ran out of the store on Dec 6.
Authorities said 64-year-old Ilson Miriam Kim followed the suspects out of the store to chase them, however they ran her over in their vehicle, WJXT reported.
She was taken to the hospital before she was pronounced dead.
“Everything she accomplished in her life was through sheer grit and determination. Though she was at times hesitant, she didn’t want fear to conquer her,” Kim’s family told WJXT. “She was in her 60s when she learned how to swim and had taken up Zumba to get into better health.”
Three suspects are involved in this case. And at this time, there haven’t been any arrests.
According to a GoFundMe, Kim leaves behind her two daughters and husband.
