HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A man accused of burglarizing numerous businesses last month has been arrested, Madison County Sheriff’s Office officials say.

Michael Thomas, 65 was allegedly seen on video breaking into Rocket City Toys and the Wagon Wheel liquor store. He is also accused of burglarizing six other businesses.

Thomas was arrested on Sunday after officials located him in a gas station parking lot after they identified his car on surveillance video.

Thomas is accused of stealing the entire cash register from Rocket City Toys. Luckily only $100 was inside of it.

Despite the low amount, Rocket City Toys owner Clint Parker offered a $500 reward to anyone who could find the man.

”We found out it’s up to 8 businesses now. so we were really hoping to get him arrested before he could keep causing that,” Parker said. “It wasn’t really about the money, it was more of ‘Hey, we need to get this guy caught because he’s going to do it again.’ If he’s already done it , he’s going to do it until he gets caught.”

Thomas remains in the Madison County Jail on a $20,500 bond.
