BUSINESS: ‘Start-Up Essentials’ Course Goes Through ABCs – Calexico Chronicle
Need some information before you launch your business? Check out the “Start-Up Essentials: From Concept to Creation” training hosted by the Imperial Valley Small Business Development Center at 1250 W. Main St. in El Centro.
The Start-Up Essentials training will start on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and end Oct. 23 with sessions starting from 4 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. This training is a multi-session course that will give participants a comprehensive guide on the foundational components of launching a small business.
Throughout the four-part series of the Start-Up Essentials business training, attendees will learn a variety of topics from concept development to how indispensable effective marketing strategies are for business growth. Below are the topics that will be covered:
● Module 1. Concept Development — Attendees will become familiar with the fundamental principles of launching a business from the ground up.
● Module 2. Customer Discovery and Acquisition — Attendees will learn about strategies that promote their business, build and strengthen their businesses reputation and attract consumers.
● Module 3. Financial Fundamentals — Attendees will gain an understanding of financial literacy skills, that will help them effectively manage budgets, cash flow and make educated business decisions.
● Module 4. Business Creation — Attendees will obtain strategic planning skills that will help them create a solid business plan outlining goals, target markets and financial projections.
Participants of this program will learn about the fundamental principles of ensuring a small businesses success: knowing your costs, effective delegation of tasks, sustainable business plans and networking. Attendees in the Start-Up Essentials course can expect to participate in a variety of interactive workshops where they can engage in hands-on activities and discussions, to expand and apply the concepts to their own business idea. Additionally, these exercises serve as vital networking opportunities for entrepreneurs as they collaborate with each other to discuss effective strategies for business growth and operational resilience.
By the end of the Start-Up Essentials training series, attendees will receive a certificate of completion and have access to resources to launch and grow a successful business. With the training program the Imperial Valley SBDC aims to provide aspiring business owners with the opportunity to learn the principles of launching and sustaining a small business, ask questions to industry experts, and apply the concepts learned throughout this series to ensure the success of their businesses.
