Business struggling with ongoing Troy construction zone
A Troy business owner claims summer construction is so bad, it’s hurting his business.
Construction began on Campbell Avenue back in May. A business owner tells CBS 6 that eleven total businesses are struggling to retain customers and receive shipments due to the ongoing road work.
Bob Demeo’s Discount Wine and Liquors was grappling with empty wine shelves, and they saw a shortage of customers.
“We’ve been in business for 49 years. This is the most empty we’ve ever seen our store, and I feel like all of our cries for help are falling on deaf ears at this point,” said Anthony Demeo, Co-owner of Demeo’s Wine & Liquor.
anthony demeo has been told construction will end anywhere from 3 weeks from now to September.
CBS 6 has reached out to the Troy Mayor’s office for more information.
