CAA Sports Promotes Alexa Cook, Rob DeAngelis
CAA Sports Property Sales, the division of the major talent agency that works on high-dollar naming rights deals for stadiums (i.e. the $500 million-plus pact to name the L.A. Clippers’ home Intuit Dome), has promoted longtime executives to new leadership roles.
Alexa Cook, who joined the Century City-based agency in 2010 and has been focused on business development and sponsorship sales, has been named the global co-head of CAA Sports Property Sales, the agency said Wednesday. Cook will work with fellow co-head Rob Slocum, the CAA veteran who has been with the agency for more than seventeen years and has worked to lead the property sales unit since 2021. The unit’s clients also include Formula 1, Oracle Red Bull Racing, the Premier League and the United States Tennis Association. It also has expanded in the esports sponsorship market, working on brand partnerships for Riot Games’ League of Legends and Valorant titles.
Rob DeAngelis, who had formerly shared the co-head title with Slocum, has been elevated to chief revenue officer of CAA Sports and will now work across all 19 of the division’s units to look for ways to generate revenue. DeAngelis, who joined CAA in 2010, had previously worked at Van Wagner Communications, where he was general manager.
“We are proud of the tremendous work of the entire CAA Sports Property Sales team, who consistently deliver results for our best-in-class clients,” stated Paul Danforth, CAA managing director and president of CAA Sports. “Alexa Cook is among the most accomplished and highly regarded sports sponsorship executives in the world. She has deep relationships spanning many industries; she is smart, strategic, respected, and admired; and we are excited for her to partner with Rob Slocum to guide the efforts of this industry leading team.”
Danforth added, “Rob DeAngelis has been a leader and top revenue generator for CAA Sports Property Sales for more than a decade. He is a creative thinker, whose innovative approach and tenacity, has fueled his ability to bring landmark, non-endemic partners into the sports marketing landscape. Rob’s relationships are second to none, and we are excited for him to create unique revenue opportunities for clients in all areas of CAA Sports.”
