Cabinetworks to close facilities in East Texas, impacting over 350 jobs

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) – A cabinet company notified employees on Monday that it is closing its facilities in Marshall and Jefferson.

Cabinetworks Group, the country’s largest privately owned cabinet maker, according to the company’s statement, is set to close two facilities.

“This strategic decision will optimize the company’s multi-family manufacturing network, leveraging capacity at more modernized and efficient manufacturing plants within its remaining 16-facility network. It will also proactively address changing customer needs, advance operational efficiencies across the network, and address the forecasted slowdown of multi-family starts and completions,” the announcement said.

Both locations will close on Sept. 13, affecting the jobs of more than 350 people. The company has said it is offering severance packages and outplacement support for its employees.

“We know these closures will have a significant impact on our team in Marshall and Jefferson,” said CEO Jeff Jackson. “Taking care of our team members and assisting them through the transition is our top priority. We will work closely with state and local resources to provide assistance to those who are impacted. We thank our employees for their dedicated service to Cabinetworks and our customers.”
