Camping World to refund $3 million to customers after Oregon DOJ investigation
EUGENE, Ore. — RV dealer Camping World has agreed to refund $3 million to customers.
This comes from a deal struck with the Oregon Department of Justice.
The money is part of a $3.5 million settlement over a consumer protection investigation.
According to the Oregon DOJ, Camping World double-charged customers on freight and prep charges from 2017 to 2018.
The charges were tied to a heavily-discounted model the dealer advertised to get customers onto the lot.
Buyers who bought an RV at any time in 2017 and 2018 and paid more than the advertised price are eligible for a refund.
The remaining $500,000 of the settlement amount to the state for penalty fees.
Camping World has multiple locations around the state.
