Can Your Company Throw Down? St. Joseph Hoping to Host Local Business Dodgeball Tournament
(KNSI) – If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
Next month, the balls will fly in St. Joseph for the inaugural Local Business Dodgeball Tournament. St. Joe Parks and Recreation Director Rhonda Juell explained to KNSI News that she came up with the idea after seeing a city in Arizona do it “and they had a blast. So we thought, hey, let’s try it.”
She says they sent emails to all the businesses in St. Joseph to see if anyone’s interested in a one-night dodgeball tournament on May 29th at Kennedy Community School. The event is open to companies outside of St. Joseph, too. Each team needs at least eight players. Juell is hoping to get 16 teams. “Since it’s the first year, we’ll see how it goes. Anyone is welcome.”
Registration is $20 per team, and the winner of the double-elimination tournament will win a championship trophy to display. The deadline to sign up is May 23rd.
