Cancer survivors rocked the runway for a special fashion show on Friday at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

The ‘Surviving in Style’ event was held in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, which is the first Sunday of June each year.

More than a dozen patients wore outfits from a local merchant, with their medical team escorting them down the runway.

The show was emceed by CBS12 News’ own Luli Ortiz. She read survivors’ inspiring stories of strength, courage, and support as they took the spotlight.

Family and friends were also there to cheer them on and celebrate their resilience.

“June earmarks Cancer Survivorship Month and awareness. However, we wanted to do it a little bit earlier. We wanted to do it in style. I think that’s exactly what we did,” said Susan Theroux Administrative Director of Service Lines at Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Organizers hope to make this an annual event.
