Car chase ends in suspect crashing into business, Knox County sheriff says
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Officials with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office announced a pursuit ended in the suspect vehicle crashing into a business Sunday.
A deputy was trying to pull a car over on Chapman Highway around 8 p.m. when the driver refused to stop, according to officials.
“The driver fled, and the deputy began pursuing the suspect when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into Thai Time Restaurant at the 6200 block of Chapman Highway (formerly Kay’s Ice Cream),” officials said. “The driver, who has outstanding warrants, including a parole violation, has been taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.”
The restaurant was closed at the time and no other injuries were reported.
The driver had outstating warrants and now faces additional charges.
