CATCH-A-CROOK: Man steals expensive lights from Springfield business

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Greene County deputies are looking for a man who stole thousands of dollars of spotlights from a Springfield business.

Investigators say it happened on April 1 around 3:40 a.m. in the 400 block of West Junction Street in Springfield, at a company called Alloy Fasteners.

Security video caught a man dressed in costume running off with several spotlights, which deputies say are worth several thousand dollars.

“He appears to be a white male, unknown age and average height,” said Deputy Derek James of the Greene County Sherrif’s office.

Deputy Derek James with Greene County says the lights are meant for a building or a large sign. He reminds everyone never to leave expensive items outside.

“Citizens can look on the marketplace and stuff like that,” said James. ‘Our detectives scour the different marketplaces to look as well.”
