Celebrities at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Awards

The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Awards brought a delightful mix of daytime elegance and understated glamour to Los Angeles on Wednesday morning. With Nicole Kidman and Selena Gomez receiving their awards, the event also saw several other stars bringing their A-game in chic, polished looks perfect for the occasion.

Maternity, But Make It Dior

Jennifer Lawrence’s maternity style continues to deliver in this Dior black silk jersey off-the-shoulder dress, accented with a leather belt that elegantly highlights her bump. The clean lines and subtle sophistication made it a standout for a daytime event. Her Manolo Blahnik Carolynmu pumps added a refined finishing touch. Jennifer’s maternity wardrobe remains a masterclass in effortless chic.

Modern Breakfast Elegance

Kerry Washington followed her jaw-dropping Prada moment with this Brandon Maxwell Pre-Fall 2024 look that felt contemporary and polished. The ivory boat neck column gown top paired with black relaxed trousers was a perfect balance of minimalist sophistication. Ideal for a breakfast event, this ensemble was quietly confident without being over the top. Kerry Washington on a roll is my favourite kind, and this look is no exception.

Floral Revival

Laura Dern brought a touch of playful femininity to the event in a Prada floral skirt suit. The suit perfectly walked the line between professional and approachable.

Stripes and Illusions

Bryce Dallas Howard took a bold approach in a McQueen panelled striped dress featuring a trompe l’oeil black harness. The optical illusion effect added intrigue to what might otherwise have been a standard striped dress.

Too Close to the Aisle

Danielle Brooks wore a Wiederhoeft Fall 2024 strapless ivory corseted satin dress with delicate floral appliqués. While the fit and silhouette were impeccable, the addition of sheer gloves pushed this dangerously close to bridal territory. The look is undeniably romantic, but perhaps the gloves were not the best choice for this particular setting.
