Celebrities at the New York City Ballet 2024 Fall Fashion Gala

The 2024 Fall Fashion Gala hosted by the New York City Ballet brought together some of Hollywood’s most fashionable stars, with Sarah Jessica Parker chairing the glamorous event. As always, the evening was filled with opulent designs, vintage inspirations, and a touch of drama on the red carpet. Here’s a closer look at some of the standout looks from the night.

Signature SJP Drama

Of course, Sarah Jessica Parker was never going to attend her own gala in anything less than dramatic fashion. Her custom Oscar de la Renta look, with its layers of tulle and metallic floral fabric, was as much a Carrie Bradshaw moment as it was an SJP signature. Though it bordered on overwhelming, it’s this kind of extravagance that has become part of SJP’s charm. Kwiat and Fred Leighton jewels completed the look, adding a final flourish to her ever-eccentric style.

Channeling Black Swan

Dianna Agron, who has become a regular at this gala, stunned in a tulle bustier dress by Erdem, evoking the elegance of a modern-day Black Swan. The dress, with its delicate layers and floral embellishments, was beautifully complemented by Fred Leighton jewels. But the real star of the ensemble? The opera gloves. They added a touch of vintage drama, perfectly tying the whole look together.

New Muse

Hari Nef made a bold statement in her third consecutive look from Alessandro Michele’s Valentino, but this was a first from the Spring 2025 ‘Pavillon des Folies’ collection. While the dress itself was pretty, I miss her usual dynamic style, which previously showcased much more variety. The Valentino Garavani Vain bag was a nice introduction to what is likely to be the go-to, IT bag, but the overall effect, especially with the hair and makeup, didn’t fully hit the mark for me this time.

Vintage Fashion Queen

If you were searching for the evening’s drama, Laverne Cox delivered in an archival Paco Rabanne Fall 1990 floral batwing dress. Styled with a 1969 Pierre Cardin necklace and a 1990 Lanvin by Claude Montana crystal hairpiece, Laverne gave us a masterclass in vintage fashion. Her dedication to vintage glamour is unmatched, and while some may think the accessories were too much, I admire her for unapologetically creating her own fashion lane. I’d love to spend a day exploring her closet.

Graceful Gala Elegance

Nicky Hilton Rothschild exuded grace and sophistication, as expected, in an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2025 gown. Her style rarely strays from classic glamour, as it works so well for her.  This outing was polished, refined, and a perfect fit for the event.

Just OK

Nina Dobrev wore a J. Mendel gown that was Ok, I guess, but I found myself irrationally distracted by her hair. The styling seemed off.
