Central Illinois kids get the chance to get their shopping done and help others at the same time

PEORIA (25News Now) – Children got some help this holiday season to find a perfect gift, as Crittenton Centers held its 41st annual Stocking Stuffer Store at Northwoods Mall.

Children younger than 12 could browse the store with the help of a personal shopper to buy Christmas gifts for their families.

Items ranged from games, trucks, puzzles, and more, each costing $2 to $10.

The goal of this store was to raise around $65,000 to help families in crisis who are Crittenton Centers’ clients.

“So, this is an opportunity for them to find items they think their family would love, and then they can wrap them and keep them a surprise. Children get incredibly excited about the idea of being able to keep a surprise from their mom or dad,” said Erin Koller, the Stocking Stuffer Store’s co-chair.

This event ran from Dec. 5th until Sunday. For more information about Crittenton Center, click here.
