Charlotte ‘Swifties’ travel nearly 5,000 miles for canceled Taylor Swift concert

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A third person has been arrested in connection to the alleged ISIS-linked terror plot, planned for one of Taylor Swift’s now-canceled concerts in Vienna, Austria.

The crushing news was announced earlier this week, meaning some 200,000 plus fans, who traveled from all over the world and spent hours of planning, waiting, and money…are now left with nothing.

Among those ‘Swifities’ who traveled are three women, from right here in Charlotte.

The trio said the trip had been a year in the making. They landed in Austria early Friday, traveling nearly 5,000 miles, an 11-hour flight from Charlotte.

Needless to say…it’s better to be safe, than sorry.

Many who have already traveled to the Austrian capital have been seen gathering in the city to sing and dance.

For all those in Vienna right now, including the three from Charlotte, only one word can describe how they’re feeling: devastation.

“It is very disappointing,” said Megan Johnson, one of the three women.
