Let’s take a look at some photos from the 2024 high school spring sports season from our Wisconsin Rapids-area teams.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The high school spring sports season has come to an end. For some central Wisconsin athletes, the end results were playoff runs, sectional victories and trips to state. For others, it meant hard-fought games, new personal records and memories that will last a lifetime.

As the final state tournament of the 2023-24 academic year has come to an end for local athletes, let’s take a look back at the spring sports season and some of our photos from Wisconsin Rapids-area teams.

Port Edwards vs. Pacelli Softball

The Port Edwards Blackhawks softball team played the Pacelli Cardinals April 19 at Spud Field in Woyak Sports Complex in Plover. The Cardinals won the game 10-0.

Assumption vs. Wausau Newman Softball

The Assumption Royals softball team played the Wausau Newman Cardinals May 3 at the Sunnyvale Park Softball Complex in Wausau. The Royals won the game 12-6.

Pacelli United vs. Wausau Wild Lacrosse

The Pacelli United lacrosse team played the Wausau Wild May 9 at Madison Elementary School in Stevens Point. Wausau Wild won 16-1. Both teams include players from across central Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Valley Conference Track and Field Meet

Athletes from across central Wisconsin competed in the Wisconsin Valley Conference Track and Field Meet May 14 at Wausau West High School. Participating schools included Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School, Marshfield High School, Wausau West High School, Stevens Point Area Senior High, D.C. Everest High School, Wausau East High School and Merrill High School. The Wisconsin Rapids boys team finished sixth in the meet, and the girls team came in seventh.

State Track & Field Championships

The top track and field competitors from across the state competed in the WIAA State Track & Field Championships May 31 and June 1 at Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex in La Crosse.
