Cheese Fix: New 24 hour cheese vending machine offers some of the world’s best cheese

PHILADELPHIA (WKRC) – A world-famous cheesemaker has opened a vending machine that will offer their world’s best cheeses for 24 hours a day. Here’s how you can try it.

It seems like there’s a vending machine for nearly everything these days. From life-saving Narcan, endangered whale meat, and even firearm ammunition, nothing is too strange to purchase with just a few button pushes. Now, a new contender enters the ring.

Perrystead Dairy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was opened three years ago by Yoav Perry, who has been creating cheese for over 15 years. He spent time in New York before moving to Philadelphia to “define American original cheese,” according to Perrystead’s website.

Perrystead’s unique cheeses have garnered international acclaim, with nine awards under its belt:

Perrystead turned a lot of heads recently when it announced a new innovation in cheese sales: the cheese vending machine.

The vending machine offers a variety of Perrystead’s award-winning cheeses alongside choice meats, crackers, and even a charcuterie board.

Perry said the idea for the vending machine came from a demand he couldn’t keep up with.

“People kept knocking on the door and asking to buy cheese, but I don’t have retail space,” he said.

The 24/7 vending machine offers The Real Philly Schmear, Intergalactic, Moonrise, Treehug, and Atlantis.
