Chico Performances kicks off new season with live music and entertainment at Chico State

Chico Performances, the performing arts organization at Chico State, is launching its first performance of the 2024-2025 season on Saturday evening.

Shows are held at the Laxson Auditorium at Chico State University.

Community members of all ages can immerse themselves in a diverse range of entertainment, from live music, and comedy to educational lectures.

The upcoming season’s premiere showcases the funk and soul sounds of Tower of Power. Additionally, other highly anticipated shows will feature acclaimed performers such as Andy Grammer and lecturer Fran Lebowitz.

Claire Pelley, the director of Chico Performances, expresses that the shows serve as a valuable platform, bringing talented performers into the community. She believes these performances create a moment of unity through art.

“There’s something on this season for everyone. If you’re into music, if you want to laugh and come to a comedy show. It’s wonderful for us to be able to bring world-class artists to Chico to see, to perform,” Pelley said.

Tickets range from $17 to around $70, depending on the performance and seat location. There are also discounts for children and Chico State students.

The funds generated from ticket sales go towards supporting the university’s efforts to host entertaining and enriching shows for the community. In addition, the proceeds help fund field trip programs for local students.
