Chiefs check-in: Top stories, headlines for October 30

After their most recent victory against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9 with a chance to keep their undefeated record intact in primetime.

The defending champions acquired pass-rusher Joshua Uche for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft in a trade with the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange and, with history on the line, the defending Super Bowl champions are only getting better on paper.

Every week presents new challenges for each team in the NFL, and the Chiefs are no strangers to adversity. Even while facing injuries to key players on both sides of the ball, Kansas City is pushing ahead to keep its hopes for a perfect season and Super Bowl three-peat alive.
