Glover’s fifth and final album recorded under the Childish Gambino name is the soundtrack to the film Bando Stone & The New World. Release on July 19, 2024, to mixed reviews, the album is reportedly the end of the line for Glover’s Grammy-winning rap identity. His previous tour was the acclaimed 2018 This Is America Tour, which played 30-plus dates in Europe and North America.
That tour was originally reported to be the last go-around for the Gambino character, but Glover brought him back for one more record.
Besides his musical achievements, Glover created and starred in the series Atlanta, as well as the Amazon Prime+ series Mr. & Mrs. Smith. This reboot of director Doug Liman’s 2005 film was followed by Glover’s latest creation, the Prime+ series Swarm. Also coming up for the artists are turns in coming Star Wars and Sony Spider-Man titles as well as a coming biopic of British-American rapper 21 Savage.
More information on the rescheduled Childish Gambino shows TBA.
