Christmas is coming. Experience these 7 holiday events around Louisiana.

There is no shortage of holiday cheer in Louisiana.

From the Celebration in the Oaks in New Orleans to the six-week-long Natchitoches Christmas Festival, there’s something for everyone and every family to enjoy. 

Here are seven upcoming holiday events around the state. 

Making Spirits Bright

6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at LARC’s Acadian Village, 200 Greenleaf Drive, Lafayette

Make spirits bright with a cocktail tasting, live entertainment and food from chef Bonnie Breaux. Walk through the village, which features half a million lights, and showcases various displays and animations. Participants must be over 21. Tickets are $40, available for purchase at eventbrite.com. If you can’t make it to the cocktail tasting, Acadian Village will be open to the public from Dec. 1-23.

Natchitoches Christmas Festival

Nov. 23-Jan. 6 at 781 Front St., Natchitoches

Natchitoches is home to one of the oldest community-based holiday celebrations in the country. This year, the city will celebrate its 98th Natchitoches Christmas Festival, which will feature more than 300,000 lights and various displays. Celebration in the Oaks

Nov. 29-Jan. 3

New Orleans’ premier Christmas celebration can be experienced by car or by foot in City Park. Drive through the park to see the twinkling lights and tune into 103.7 upon arrival to enjoy holiday classics, or walk through the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park to enjoy 18 various rides and see the Botanical Garden. Tickets start at $20, available to purchase at celebrationintheoaks.com.

The driving tour is located at 4 Friederichs Ave., New Orleans, while the walking tour is located at 7 Victory Ave., New Orleans.

Light Up the Lake 

Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Lake Charles Event Center, 900 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles

With 20-plus holiday market vendors, everyone on the nice list can get something special. Enjoy a food truck plaza, Santa’s workshop, live music, fireworks and a boat parade.

Miracle on Washington Christmas Festival

Saturday, Dec. 7, at 111 N. Washington St., DeRidder

Celebrate the Christmas season in downtown DeRidder with shopping, baked goods, food vendors, games, music and more. End the day with the city’s Christmas parade and dazzling light show. For information, call the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce at (337) 463-5533.







Festival of the Bonfires
