AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association has partnered with an officiating education company called RefReps to provide comprehensive Sports Officiating Education curriculum for more than a dozen sports. This opportunity provides a viable way for schools to offer “Intro to Sports Officiating” to students during their curricular day as an elective course.

School administrators are encouraged to sign up to attend an informational webinar with RefReps on Monday, May 6 or Thursday, May 23.

At present, over 500 high schools and universities across 43 states are actively teaching Intro to Sports Officiating classes using RefReps’ highly engaging learning experience. It is believed that this curriculum, along with an engaged instructor from your staff will alleviate the barriers to offering this course to high school students, and provide immediate benefits to students, the CHSAA member schools, and the sports community.

These webinars will outline the success that’s been achieved with partner schools thus far, and how to consider this course offering as a stand-alone Sports Officiating class or how the curriculum may still fit into a pre-existing courses such as Advanced Physical Education, Team Sports, or an athletic period.

RefReps does have suggestions related to funding strategies that have been successful across the country.
