Circular Ring 2 Is Refined, Redesigned And Changes The Way You Buy Smart Rings

Buying a smart ring isn’t as seamless as purchasing a smartwatch. Ideally, you first need to receive a sizing kit to determine your ring size before placing an order. However, that’s changing with CES 2025. The French brand Circular has unveiled its second-generation smart ring, the Circular Ring 2, which introduces a phone-based sizing system. It reduces waste and simplifies the process of owning a smart ring. Plus, the Circular Ring 2 features a longer battery life, better health tracking, and a durable titanium build.

Circular is addressing one of the biggest challenges in smart ring ownership. Its new digital ring sizing feature uses your smartphone camera to measure the ring size and eliminates the need for sizing kits. This not only speeds up the ordering process but also contributes to sustainability by reducing packaging waste.

I tried the process, it requires you to place your hand below a card (could be a credit card) and the algo detects the size of your finger. It’s still a work in progrees, as it detected size 9 for my size 10 index finger.

The Circular Ring 2 is equipped with “enhanced sensors” for greater accuracy in tracking key metrics, including ECG. It also features an FDA-cleared Atrial Fibrillation detection algorithm to monitor and detect irregular heartbeats for improved health tracking. According to Circular, the Ring 2 provides “real-time insights with precision, so users can live confidently and stay proactive about their well-being.”

While data tracking isn’t a problem for smart rings—the best ones are already on par with smartwatches—making the data actionable is where apps matter. Circular claims its redesigned app mirrors the “ring’s luxurious aesthetic with a more intuitive and refined user experience.”

The Circular Ring 2 has undergone a complete redesign and is now made of titanium. It will be made available in four colors, including Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Black. It is built to last, with up to eight days of battery life per charge, even with 24/7 health monitoring, including detailed sleep stage analysis. The device comes with a wireless charging dock for charging.

The Circular Ring 2 will go on sale in February or March 2025 at a price of $380.It’s expensive considering the no-subcription competition, like Ultrahuman Ring Air and RingConn Smart Ring Gen 2 cost $349 and $299, respectively. Circular plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign in January before the official release.
