City of Austin to hold job fair geared toward people over 50 years old

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin invites all individuals 50 years old and up to join their community job fair Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The 50+ Community Job Fair hosted by the City of Austin will provide community members with opportunities to meet multiple City of Austin departments and employers.

The job fair will take place Wednesday Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Texas Workforce Solutions Capital Area North building.

A list of all the COA Employers that will be at the job fair is available online.

The fair will include employers that “primarily specialize in providing jobs and resources for individuals who are over the age of 50, and many employers are also committed to hiring and assisting individuals from all backgrounds, including individuals with prior criminal convictions, veterans, and people with disabilities,” according to the city.

The city also encourages anyone and everyone seeking a job to attend, they said they are open to assisting individuals from all backgrounds.

“Including individuals with prior criminal convictions, veterans, and people with disabilities,” the COA said in a press release.

This is a free event with limited space and with first-come first-served registration opportunities. Those interested in the job fair can register online.
