RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – Summertime is when people start thinking about getting in shape, and the City of Rapid City may have just the thing to help.

The City Aquatics Division is hosting outdoor fitness classes at the FitLot on 125 Waterloo Street from June 17 through August 23.

Classes are available for all levels and sessions will focus on low-impact workouts. They’re taught by Swim Center Exercise Coordinator Sue Crossman.

Joining Crossman will be two FitLot coaches who will help guide participants through workouts based on strength training, bodyweight exercises, and cardio and endurance routines.

People will have the opportunity to use a variety of equipment such as a chest press, resistance bands, and a handcycle.

Crossman says the FitLot benefits people of all ages including senior citizens.

Classes are free to the public and will run from 6:30 a.m. through 7:15 a.m.
