MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Entrepreneurs in Montpelier looking to boost their businesses by moving online are getting some advice.

The Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation hosts a class supported by a yearlong grant from the Legislature called Small Business Technical Assistance Exchange. It engages people from diverse backgrounds who may have a hard time accessing help.

Five workshops are offered throughout the state to teach owners how to harness the power of the World Wide Web. One was held on Monday at Namaste Indian Nepali Kitchen in Montpelier.

“The flood, the increase of remote workers, the disruptions, like the lack of a post office that we’ve encountered in Montpelier– all of those things make pivoting toward more online business really important for business owners who are in Montpelier and who are throughout the state that are impacted by those changes,” said Melissa Bounty of the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation.

The program comes to a close at the end of the month.
