Cleveland makes list of top dog-friendly travel destinations in America

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland Browns season is officially upon us, which means the city has essentially “gone to the Dawgs.” As it turns out, it’s gone to the dogs, too.

Research stats from April of this year aggregated by mobility portal SIXT finds Cleveland is #24 on their list of “Dog-Friendly Destinations in the U.S.” SIXT arrived at their Top 100 locations in America list based on amenities including animal hospitals, dog-friendly hotels and restaurants.

Over 50% of pet owners has said in recent studies that they take their pets on vacation and that pet-friendly destinations factor into their decision-making process when it comes to travel.

Searches for “pet friendly vacations” have increased by 94% in the past year, while searches for “pet friendly accommodations” have increased by 207%.

Drawing in data from Booking Holdings, BringFido.com, Google Maps, and TPL.org, SIXT factored in “population, the number of dog-friendly restaurants, hotels that allow pets, dog parks, veterinarians, and animal welfare organizations” when ranking these cities.

No bones about it, The Land is paw-some.
