Coleen Rooney does 126 squats every single day to stay fit at 38

I’m A Celeb star Coleen Rooney has proved that you definitely don’t need a gym membership to stay fit. During her three-week stint in the Australian jungle, the 38-year-old swapped her usual routine of reformer Pilates and gym workouts for bodyweight squats, she told The Daily Mail.

‘At home every morning when I’m in the shower I do squats. I get up before the kids and do a routine of squats, and I know if I’ve got them done I can carry on,’ she said.

‘I would also do a few gym sessions and reformer Pilates, but in the jungle, obviously, it was my squats.’

Hiking through the jungle meant she also got a daily cardio workout. ‘Walking up and down those stairs… when you go to trials you are trekking through that jungle, up and down,’ she explained. ‘And it’s a long way to go.’

‘You’re tired and you’re on less calories. It’s hot. It’s humid. So yeah, I did like to keep the squat routine up.’

She went on to specify her exact squat workout, sharing that she does a total of 126 squats daily. ‘I do 21, 21, 21 of different ones, then I’ll do 63 pulses every morning,’ she said.

Apparently, she racked up even more NEAT exercise (the kind you do without realising you’re doing it) as she naturally took on many of the chores in camp to make up for not looking after her sons. ‘It’s just my daily life to pick up after people, to just get on with it,’ she said.

‘If I don’t do it myself, it might not get done. It was hard to step back from not doing other people’s. There were times when people took longer to do their chores. I was desperate to go and do that but we got punished for it.’
