College Station museum offering World War II tank rides during Veterans Day weekend

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – If you’ve ever wanted to ride in a military tank or fire a cannon from World War I, your chance to do so comes this weekend.

The Museum of the American G.I. is hosting its History in Motion event during Veterans Day weekend, observed Nov. 9 and 10.

There will be demonstrations of military vehicles and weapons demonstrations like machine guns, cannons, and a flamethrower.

If you want to get in on the action yourself, there are slots available to ride in some of the vehicles and safely handle some of the historic weapons.

Executive director Leisha Mullins called it a fun way to honor military service ahead of Veterans Day.

“It’s a wonderful time for people to actually come out and experience history coming alive so they can see the vehicles in action,“ she said.
