The longtime Columbia sandwich restaurant Sub Shop has closed its doors, the business announced Monday on its Facebook page.
The shop has been selling sandwiches in Columbia for 49 years and became a “staple” in the community, the Facebook post said.
The post has garnered more than 100 comments and more than 340 reactions on Facebook.
“Truly locally owned businesses are what makes a community unique and we hope all our customers continue to support local businesses,” Sub Shop wrote.
Sub Shop plans to auction its equipment, decorations, furniture, memorabilia and artwork through Asset Auctions Group in several weeks, according to its Facebook post.
