Columbia College, coming off a loss against Williams Baptist University last Saturday, took on Stephens College in a doubleheader on Friday.
In game one, the Cougars took control of the ball game. In the top of the second inning, Jazlin Gottmanhad a single to right field, leading to two RBIs and put the Cougars up 2-0.
It wasn’t until the sixth inning that the Cougars took full force. Emma Bruno hit to right field and the Cougars repeat bringing two home. The Cougars won game one, 4-0.
In game two, momentums changed with the Stars leading the game all of the third inning.
Elise Kendrick hit the ball to left-center and took Anabel Throckmorton and Lyndsey Hood home, leading the Stars 2-0.
The Stars kept bringing it home with three singles, bringing the score up to 6-2 in the sixth inning.
The Cougars tried to get back in the game, and Gottman with a much-needed single to right field, leading to 2 RBIs.
The Cougars were close to sweeping the doubleheader, but it wasn’t enough. Stephen College won game 2, 6-4.
