Columbia man arrested for allegedly barricading himself into a business

A Columbia man allegedly threatened to assault a man with a fire extinguisher before barricading himself into an unnamed Ninth St. business Saturday.

Columbia Police responded to the disturbance at approximately 11:45 a.m. on the 10 block of N. Ninth St., according to a Facebook post.

Witnesses said the man, identified as Cameron Comstock, 24, of Columbia, was allegedly threatening individuals and threatening one man with a fire extinguisher. Police said he also allegedly attempted to gain access to two different vehicles before moving to the business.

Comstock was arrested on charges of peace disturbance, fourth-degree assault, second-degree tampering, third-degree kidnapping and resisting arrest.
