The Orangetheory on Columbia Pike is closing.

The fitness studio at 4231 Columbia Pike, which opened in late 2019 below Centro Arlington apartments and next to Harris Teeter, will hold its last day of classes on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to an email sent to members. After that, all Columbia Pike memberships will roll over to the Ballston studio at 4201 Wilson Blvd.

“Your membership will automatically transfer to Orangetheory Ballston on September 1st while maintaining your current amazing rates,” the email said.

The staff at Orangetheory Columbia Pike will also join the fitness franchise’s Ballston location.

The closure comes amid ongoing construction projects on the Pike that are slated to end in late 2025. These aim to improve safety and walkability, though some county officials previously told ARLnow that the construction has posed challenges for Pike businesses.

The D.C. area is home to dozens of Orangetheory studios, including Arlington locations in Rosslyn, Clarendon and Pentagon City. The gym hosts group fitness classes that focus on cardio and strength-based interval training.

Orangetheory did not respond to requests for comment.
