Columbus kids treated to shopping spree thanks to academic success

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus educators are looking to give kids a hand up and a push forward, all thanks to a fresh new pair of kicks.

On Wednesday, the local community group We Are Linden celebrated students going above and beyond at Legacy Academy of Excellence.

Students at the school were loaded up for a special trip to Easton for a shopping spree. The unique gift was a way to recognize the kids for their success in the classroom.

Before the end of the year, we want to show them how much we appreciate them,” said school principal Emmanuel Anthony.

Organizers of the project told ABC 6 that the giveaway was a chance to highlight those kids making the right choices.
