Community Calendar: Holiday Market, Veterans grocery shopping & more

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Let’s take a look at what’s happening around the North Country this weekend.

It’s the time of year to start thinking about holiday shopping, and the Carthage Area Rescue Squad has got you covered. Saturday, November 16 head to the Holiday Market to find locally-made gifts from candles to woodworking and more. The market takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 200 Riverside Drive in Carthage.

If you’re in the market for new recipes, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is hosting an Autumn Harvest Cooking Class on Saturday at 11 a.m. The event takes place at the Cornell Cooperative Extension (203 N Hamilton St, Watertown, NY, United States, New York 13601) and you’ll learn how to make Butternut Harvest Chili; Maple Cornbread; and Apple Cider. This time of year, who could say ‘no’ to a nice warm spaghetti dinner? The Paws 4 Potter Spaghetti Dinner is also Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Park Fire Department (630 Main St, Glen Park, NY 13601). Meals are $12 each and proceeds benefit Paws4Potter and the National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Here’s a chance for veterans and their families to get some groceries. the Feed Our Vets Watertown Monthly Pantry is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Faichney Drive Business Complex (1291 Faichney Dr, Watertown, NY 13601).
