Confident Consumer: Staying on Task for Back to School Shopping
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Whether you are planning to do you back to school shopping in-person or online it is bound to be a busy time.
On a Tuesday edition of Fox45 Morning News Clay Campbell with the Better Business Bureau of Maryland spoke with Megan Gilliland about how parents can make back to school shopping more manageable. Campbell says combining available discounts with the deals provided during Maryland’s Tax Free Week is a good first step.
“[Students] can use their [school] email address of student ID,” Campbell said. “Go to the stores, go online and you can use those discounts to stack on top of Tax Free Week.”
When it comes to shopping for supplies online, Campbell says it is important to be aware of offers that are too good to be true.
“When you click on [advertisements] look for things like misspelled words,” Campbell said. “You also want to look for security measures when you’re checking out… and you want to use a purchasing method that offers buyer protection.
