‘Cool Women Hot Jobs’ event showcases career opportunities to local students
Rochester, N.Y. — An annual celebration brought together a diverse panel of accomplished female professionals to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders.
Young Women’s College Prep held its annual Cool Women Hot Jobs event Friday, showcasing jobs for high school students.
The gathering brought in nearly 50 local community leaders, in a wide range of industries including real estate, radio, TV, medicine, law, government, education and more. Each speaker shared their unique career paths, the challenges they’ve overcome and valuable insights on leadership, resilience and pursuing their passion.
The goal is to expose students to a variety of careers and foster aspirations that will encourage them to dream big and work toward achieving their goals.
“One of the biggest points of this day is just to expose them and just show them what the potential is out there for them,” said YWCP Principal Sheri Weber. “A lot of them don’t know any careers outside their own home, so this year we have more than 50 women here with 50 different careers talking to the kids and just showing them what is possible for them.”
