Council members get taste test from city business
Passing a budget with no tax increase was sweet for Warren City Council members this week.
But that wasn’t the only treat for this week’s meeting.
City council members also welcomed a sweet addition to the community, as Michelle Streich of Stonehill Chocolates introduced her new brick-and-mortar store within the city limits.
Streich, a confectioner with over 30 years of experience crafting handmade chocolates, shared her journey of bringing Stonehill Chocolates to life. While she has been creating confections for decades, 2024 marked her decision to open a storefront.
“This is a wonderful addition to our community,” said council member Danielle Flasher. “We’re excited to see Stonehill Chocolates thrive in Warren.”
Streich’s chocolates were recently one of 24 artisan chocolates selected throughout Pennsylvania featured in the “Delicious Pennsylvania Advent Calendar,” which features various treats behind each door. Delicious Food Delivered informed her they would like to include the Stonehill Chocolates chocolate-dipped Oreos, one decorated as the Grinch and the other with holiday sprinkles.
“It was a privilege to be asked to submit a sample, and of course, then to be selected to be included in the box,” Streich said.
