Counterfeit bills used at multiple business in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln residents may want to check their cash after police say counterfeit bills were used at several businesses in the city.

Lincoln Police is investigating four counterfeit money cases, three of which occurred on Tuesday.

A counterfeit $20 bill was used in a Scooter’s drive-thru near 48th and Adams streets and another counterfeit $20 bill was discovered in the deposit from Jimmy John’s at Pinnacle Bank near 40th Street and Normal Boulevard.

That same day, police said someone attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill at G & J Smokeshop near 31st and O streets.

LPD also took a report of a counterfeit $100 bill that had been deposited at Cornhusker Bank at 56th and South streets on Aug. 22.
