County Sees 3.7% Increase in Private Sector Jobs For November When Compared to ‘23 – X101 Always Classic – WXHC.com

The New York State Department of Labor released its private sector jobs report yesterday for the month of November. The Department of Labor says the state saw an overall increase over the month by 11,900 jobs when compared to November 2023. To date, the state has seen an increase of 123,000 private sector jobs.

New York State’s unemployment rate remained unchanged, at 4.4% for November. For Cortland County, the county saw an increase of 3.7% or 700 jobs for November bringing a total of 19,400 private sector jobs in November 2024 when compared to November ‘23. Last year, the county had 18,700 private sector jobs in November.

Tompkins County continued to have a job loss. November ‘24 shows Tompkins County had 63,100 private sector jobs; in 2023, the county had 63,900, a decrease of 1.3%.
